The DownMat is our ultimate mat that combines all these features, followed by the SynMat and ComfortFoam mat.
100% airtight: Each individual mat is tested for 72 hours prior to leaving the factory! The mats withstand 5x the pressure usually generated during pumping. A car can drive over the mat without it bursting. But the mat should be protected from thorns, heat sources, fire sparks, humidity in the mat and rough treatment. There is a compromise between low weight and durability. But this can be compensated by care
For use with a pillow, 2 loops at head end can be used to secure the packsack to the mat.
All Exped Mats feature an airtight and humidity resistant PU-film that is laminated to the inside of the shell fabric. This in contrast to cheaper PU coatings that are not as durable. Top surface of the honeycomb textured fabric provides effective slip resistance but still allows the sleeper to change position with the sleeping bag.
Seams are all high-frequency welded (most secure method of fusing fabrics and materials) to ensure mat integrity.

Most models have two wide mouth or low profile valves that ensure fast inflation and simple deflation. They are easy to use, light and sturdy.
